We are excited to get your Matterport Scan scheduled for you. This service is revolutionary in STR Design planning because it allows a design team to go on-site, 24/7 and gain accurate measurements and see the vertical surfaces that need to be addressed, any time they need to! Matterport scans can be completed virtually anywhere in the US for cents on the dollar, especially relative to the cost of you or our team traveling to the site in person to gain crucial design data. There are 2 types of scans we do:
First, there are "Planning Scans" which are used for us to measure and create designs for your property. Planning scans allow us to have a basis for conducting virtual site visits, art placement, and product specification services. If you plan to hire WYN for any services beyond a consult, we require a planning scan for us to accurately work on your property. Planning scans are also very valuable for STR owners who don't live near their properties and want to access their property's interior while at home. The second type is a "Marketing Scan" which is used to promote your finished property and can increase your bookings an average of 20% and add certainty to client bookings. Both scans cost the same, but a planing scan is hosted for 4 months with all hosting fees included in the scan price. The Marketing scan costs an extra $100 per year for hosting your 3D Model on our permanent server, to place on your VRBO listing, embed in your web site and to QR Code on AirBNB. Below are all the details you need to know to book a Matterport scan for your property:
Can I just go online and book a scan with Matterport Directly?
Yes you can. However, you will have to create an account and create a hosting portal, both of which takes time and money that when its all said and done, will cost you more than just booking it through us. Also, if we aren't hosting the scan, we can't save any measurements or changes we make to the model during our work sessions, so having us do it is better all the way round.
What does it cost to scan my property?
The scan cost is broken down as a flat fee based on the size range of the property with a minimum of $390.00 (up to 2000 sq/ft) regardless of the actual size if your property is under 2000 sq/ft. This flat fee includes your subscription and hosting fees for the 3D Model of your space. Prices are as follows:
- 0000 - 2000 sq/ft - $390
- 2001 - 3000 sq/ft - $484
- 3001 - 4000 sq/ft - $550
- 4001 - 5000 sq/ft - $645
- 5001 - 6000 sq/ft - $750
- 6001 - 7000 sq/ft - $845
- 7001 - 10,000 sq/ft - $990
In addition, if you plan to hire WYN to conduct further design services, we also require a matterport 2D schematic blueprint of your whole property for our CAD design software. This floorpan is $75.00 plus tax and is also a valuable graphic to display in your listing and to have on site for emergency evacuation routes through the property.
How does travel to my space get charged?
Depending on where the property is located, you may be subject to a travel fee for the scan tech to drive to your property. We will get a travel quote after you submit your scan request and have it approved by you before confirming your scan.
Per Matterport, here is the travel policy: If a Subject Property is located more than 30 driven miles (50 driven kilometers), from the closest In-Network City location identified in CORE NETWORK CITIES LIST for each driven mile in excess of such distance, each way, a travel surcharge will be incurred for such Capture Services Job in the amount of $2 per mile. Matterport will notify Customer of the applicable travel surcharge and obtain customer’s written consent to the travel surcharge (email sufficient) prior to performing the Capture Services (in each case a “Travel Surcharge”). If, in the United States, the distance to the Subject Property is greater than 500 driven miles or not accessible by car, Matterport will seek Customer’s written approval for a different Travel Surcharge amount and obtain customer’s written consent to the Travel Surcharge (email sufficient) prior to performing the Capture Services. The Travel Surcharge shall be payable by Customer in the currency specified in this Order."
How long does it take to capture a space?
Capturing a space depends on the size and complexity of the property. For example, furnished properties take longer to scan than vacant properties, and the smaller the space, the faster the capture. Estimated capture time:
1–4,000 ft2 (372 m2): 1–3 hours
4,000–10,000 ft2 (929 m2): 2–5 hours
